Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, People magazine

If there was ever any doubt Mariah Carey’s rumored marriage, People now has the photographic proof.

In this week’s upcoming issue, the singer and her new hubby, , talk about their Bahamian wedding and share exclusive photos from the private ceremony.  Apparently we’ll also be seeing shots of their new tattoos.  (I hate to be so negative—but aren’t love tats usually something you end up regretting?)

Oprah Winfrey reveals what the bride’s tattoo says, after the jump.

At last night’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, female celebrities of every caliber had the chance to put on their finest.  (Their escorts did their best to look acceptable in their suits.)

Unfortunately, most of the dresses I saw this year were either outright boring or simply ugly.  You can view more of the lowlights - and some of the highlights - after the jump.

Lohan family

Listen up, frazzled moms.  Don’t worry too much about steering your children in the wrong direction.  Even if you do—someone out there will still think you’re a great mother.

Take for instance.  Even though the show mom has seen one daughter fall off the wagon (and out of her clothes) and the other child aspiring to emulate her big sis, she’s set to be labeled a “Top Mom” at a charity event tonight.

Scarlett Johansson, Ryan Reynolds

This is really turning out to be a busy month for Scarlett Johansson.  Not only will she be debuting her first album on May 20th, she’s now sporting a new sparkly ring.

People magazine reports the 23-year-old recently became engaged to Definitely, Maybe‘s , her boyfriend of one year.  Johansson’s rep said the proposal actually happened a while ago, though no specific details were disclosed.

This will be the first marriage for both actors.  In the past, Scarlett has been linked to Josh Hartnett, her co-star in , and Chapter 27‘s Jared Leto.  This will not be the first engagement for Reynolds though.  The 31-year-old was previously set to marry singer Alanis Morissette.  In fact, the two officially broke up shortly before he started dating Johansson.

Ashley Olsen

This is an entirely new look for —and I’m not really sure what to make of it.

She’s either:

A) Grimacing because that man is stepping on her foot.
B) Reacting to a photo gallery of her most memorable outfits.
C) Genuinely smiling.

Mariah CareyNick Cannon

Right now crews from Entertainment Tonight and The Insider are somewhere out there trying to get this story straight….

Depending on who you choose to believe, singers and Nick Cannon are either just dating, engaged or already married.  Although the two have been spotted together in the past several weeks, the ‘couple’ has artfully dodged any dating rumors.  Then last Saturday, Mariah appeared at an after party for her new movie (Tennessee) while sporting a large rock on her ring finger.

Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer

Given the combined dating histories of and John Mayer, it’s not surprising these two finally ended up sunbathing together.

Thanks to pics from In Touch Weekly (you can see more of them here), at least they won’t be able to deny knowing each other.

Mario Lopez, Karina SmirnoffUPDATE:  Karina Smirnoff is now denying People’s report about a supposed break-up.  Maybe they just haven’t done it yet.  Meanwhile, you can read about another DWTS split here.

It seems like someone is now free to pursue another Mario…

After nearly 1 1/2 years together, former partners Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff have called it quits.  The two - who competed together during the fall of 2006 - eventually placed second that season behind Cheryl Burke and Emmitt Smith.

Although the two moved in together last year, the couple have been spending a great deal of time apart recently.  While Karina has been participating on DWTS’ Season 6, Lopez has been starring in a Broadway revival of A Chorus Line.  He will also conveniently appear on the ABC show’s 100th episode next week.  (I’m sure it was quite awkward backstage during that pre-taped performance.)

Up until recently, Karina and her current have had to fend off rumors about a possible romance.  (They said she already had a boyfriend.)  What will their excuse be now?

While we’ve become used to seeing musicians evolve into Oscar-nominated thespians (e.g. , Queen Latifah), I can’t recall the last time an A-list actor has successfully made their mark in the music industry.  But does that mean they should stop trying?

On May 20th, will release her first album, Anywhere I Lay My Head.  Her first single, ‘Falling Down’, can be heard via her video below.  After listening to it, let us know what you think.  Should she stick to starring in Woody Allen films…or could she possibly have a side career in music?
